  • Festpire?

I started stripping a 4-dr Aspire today and in between things started eyeballing the windshield and pillar posts. Very swoopie - much more aerodynamic than the Festiva's

So I did some basic measuring and moved an Aspire door to RED to see what the basic lines would look like and sort of like the whole idea.

Has anyone ever done this swap?

A fair amount of work, but then why else do we have rivet guns, sawsall's and welders?

Update: A couple more days and I'll have the roof, pillar posts and windshield cut off the Aspire. I have a junk Festiva that I am thinking about cutting the roof off to see how it would fit - but I may just set it on top and see how it looks.

I'll post pictures when I get it done.

So your trying to put the roof and pillars of an aspire onto a festiva for better aerodynamics correct?

        Yes, that's the idea.

I'm not sure how much of a performance increase it will give - swoopie windshield usually just make a difference in the upper mph range.

But you never know, it may end up just being real cool looking and work through the whole mph range.

        We'll know shortly....

Aspire seat swap, Aspire brake swap, better heat in Aspire, Aspire roof and doors, better aero, better sound deadening, bigger trunk.

So basically you just want to have an Aspire. While @ ~300 lbs heavier it won't handle as well as a well-specced Festiva, it can still be modded to out-handle anything heavier. I consider mine to be a "BMW 2-series". :-)
