Comming from the guy with a clean shell in the garage and driving a death trap!
But yes if it's pretty rusty recycle it and head south for a replacement shell. Cheaper then replacment panels and labor to finish it out and paint.

Living in ohio everything has rust so I am used to it the car is solid where it needs to be it is just at the pinch weld it is not as nice as I want. Or over the rear wheel wells I have the tools the time and the know-how plus the price was right.

As far as I know there's no patch panels unless you cut them from another car.
I've patched mine up as well in the past , this is what I do for a living. If it's structurly safe I say go for it. Get some sheet metal and start cutting. After repairs make sure you use some rust proofing on the back side or it will all be for nothing. As you probably know in the part of the world you can't stop rust we can just hope to slow it down.

Any one ever use say a drivers side fender cut up to fix the passengers side wheel opening and vica verca I know the bodyline on the fender drops but the wheel opening looks offal close and the length is there so many about 3 " or so above opening and cut off all rolled edges except in the opening itself may make a good patch pannel

with shipping cost to the states you could just go south and buy like three festivas and bring them back up for the same price
