  • Any bodywork guru's?

Finally found a festi of me own.. 93 base model white 217k kms, body has some wavey dents in the doors.. looks like ripples. and some rust in the rear wheel wells.. no holes and no rotting yet, anyone know how I can fix this so it doesn't rust back again...any idea on the wavy dents?

In my experience.... grind grind grind.. dont be afraid. get all the rust off an get a good "rust stop/removal" spray or compound. Then mar glass anything you want to keep nice. as far as the waves... make sure it isnt caused by rust. a lot of times if cars get rusty, people try to do a quick bondo job on them and it ends up wavy. quick check, tap on the door where its clean, then tap where its wavy. if its a more solid sound from the wavy part, id say theres a good chance theres bondo under there.

He said it. Thick coats and sand the hell out of it if there not bad. I think the wind could dent our cars. But thats how we get kick ass curb weight.

or u could replace the door. if thats all thats wavy. but the tapping thing is good ro u can go to an auto parts store and they have paint thinckness gauges which is basically a magnet and slap it on where its wavy then where its straight and just judge the pull fromt he magnet. if not much pull on magnet then there is somethign under the paint
