  • Schroth Rallye Belts

Thinking about buying this belt for my car. Reasons being:

    1. My stock 89 belt is broken.
    2. These are FMVSS certified.
    3. I want to autocross the car, but my seatbelt is broken.
    4. I hate flopping around in the seats (I'm installing seats with head rests)
    5. Can you imagine the looks a Festiva with harnesses get?

Has anyone had experiences with these? They look pretty simple to install. I'd do the Rallye 3.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

You will get a ton of flak for running a Harness in a street car. A lot of it will have merit, as there is a ton that goes into what makes a Harness system safe vs making it a liability.

I won't go into details in this post, I'm sure someone here will have a lot more knowledge than I on the subject.

With that being said, I run a 4 Point in my car. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like the flak caught for running a harness won't be as bad as the flak from dying because my seat belt was broken, hahaha. I already catch flak for the car anyway.

Nobody has gotten you that Manual belt yet? I am honestly surprised. I will pick one up for you next time I'm in the JY, probably this weekend.

A harness will be a huge improvement for AutoX at any rate, really helps hold you to the seat.

I will test the one at my yard. It is dirty but I think it works, and it can be washed. I will PM you when I find out.

I've got a left had one it's yours for the price of shipping. And there's nothing wrong with a harness in a street car. Just make sure it's mounted correctly so it doesn't compress your spine and your good to go.
If seat belts where better then harnesses they wouldn't be in race cars.
People that give you hell are just ignorant or misinformed .
Sure cheap non certified harness are crap and latch lock take time to get snapped in but it's just a small inconvenience.

I'm sorry man I don't know why but I thought you needed a auto belt. I see you need a manual.
Mines auto so I can't help you.
I should have read more closely.

I'm in the same situation with a ripped driver side belt looking for a replacement (stock or aftermarket). I was thinking of putting in a non-retractable 3-point like these:

Check out the deal on 3 Point Seat Belt - Non-Retractable - Chrome Lift Latch at Replacement Seat Belts | Lap Belts | 3 Point Seat Belts

Looks like they might bolt right in.

Auto belts or manual? I have auto belts if you need them.
