  • Help with Interior Ideas

I had been wanting up paint my interior bits with some type of nice paint to freshen up the interior. But I've also throw around the idea of wrapping the with some type of fabric. If you could post of pictures of ideas or examples it would help me out.

I also want to add sound deadening to help with the massive amounts of road noise. A friend of mine turned me onto a company that is much cheaper than Dynomat. Suggestions on what everyone has done and used would greatly be appreciated

Most road noise transmission is from behind the B pillar. Namely the cavities around the wheel wells and the spare well. Start there. Also, adding some GreatStuff to the area between the door skins and the crash bar should help alot. The first thing to do is make sure any holes in the body are closed (I noticed you're from the rust belt), so sheet metal work is likely in order.

I personally try to avoid painting any plastics that get touched frequently (door handles, window cranks, etc)

Any other plastic, I would recommend you buy a paint specifically for plastic, and prep the surface very well. I used Rustoleum for Plastic with success in the past.

Door cards have been wrapped by many people in the past, with a ton of different fabrics. Pretty much whatever fabric suits your fancy can be used.

The window cranks and door handles can be found in a couple of different OEM plastic colors online.

I used stuff called b-quiet. Was very effective. Had a lot of photos in my build thread but photobucket stole them.
Any paint on your trim gets scratched quick. Very noticable if its a different colour. If your doing grey on grey probably not so noticable.

I haven't actually been under the car since I've had it. I just assume it's kinda rusty at least. I've thought about doing undercoat. Thanks for the advice

Thanks. I have used the plastic Rustoleum before. I just wasn't sure on a color. Perhaps close to the same color with texture or something.
