Sorry to keep beating the same horse but I need some help with sound deadening, pictures would be appreciated so I'm sure I don't make a big mess that I'll have to clean up one day :-P
Thanks!
Use butyl based deadener, non-asphaltic, so that it doesn't stink inside your car when it gets hot.
Some ebay sellers dump slightly wrinkled seconds from OEM automotive suppliers. I removed my door glass in order to slide large full length size pieces into the doors. They deaden the sound great! I put pieces in the ceiling, spare tire well, rear hatch and inside all interior body panels. I did not put any in my front fenders.
I had a bajillion photos of doing sound deadner in my build thread and talked about it a bunch. Given some people advice on it here, but photobucket killed all my photos. However if both of you were to install the chrome extension thingy that fixes photobucket and then check out my build thread you will see lots of photos.
I am very happy with mine. Very quiet interior. Just have to deal with wind noise now from windshield and door gaskets. Wind noise is much louder than road noise on the freeway
Hey John I suspect you have personal experience with this product, can you tell us more, the product looks good.
I haven't used any of their products yet, I'd like to one day though as they seem to have a great system to dampen noise. I have used the aluminum faced peel and stick stuff before (like dynomat) and it helps. I haven't done anything with the Festiva since I don't want to add weight.
I'm a former world champion in the stereo world.I use damplifier pro sound deadening.great product.I'll be using it in the festy as well.I'll take pics as well.Rammat is also a great product.Best out there in my opinion is vibraflex.

Great info! What in your opinion would be the best bang-for-buck sound deadener? "Good enough" but inexpensive.
I too had a ton of pictures of the double layered aspire in my build thread.
But photobucket ruined it for you all. SAM_0781.JPG
I would fix my build thread but im not a moderator.
And if a mod helped me I would have to have him upload my pictures post by post and id have to tel them for each post what order I had them in. Would be a pain in the butt
