  • 3D Printing Requests

Anyone of 3D Prints here want to take some requests? Or have an idea as to what to print? I figured I would start a thread for printers/requests that the community might have.

I had a couple of ideas for stuff that could be printed:

    1. New Antenna Block offs (I heard Cliff was doing these)
    2. Rear wiper delete plates.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

If I can get good measurements from a wiper hole at the JY this weekend, I could model that pretty easily.

Would just a large round topped cylinder be enough for you? Almost like a big center cap on a short tube? I know you sent me pictures of the factory ones at one point.

Here are a few I have been working on:

Dash Tray, Clock Bezel (modified from 3D scanned mesh), and a Go Pro mount on a rear view mirror delete plate.

It needs to be under tension so that it does not pop out. It should have individual ears that flex slightly when pushed in.
I will take a pic of what I am after.

Yes, I was thinking a 0.5" tall or so cylindrical piece, with ears along the bottom edge, similar to a center cap, with a domed top. So that it clears the hardware and strut threads.

Exactly. Spherical just like the center cap but much larger. I just don't want any dirt to get in and interfere with any adjustments. Check to see if anyone else on Kai's list wants them too. Let me know your estimate. Thanks.

                  That would be sweet!

Please print the plastic .015" larger than the size of the Festiva hole.
By cutting two slots you will create four ears which will provide even tension all around.
Be sure to print some cutting marks to use as a guide.
                    Thanks.

Would 3d printed bushings for the rack and pinion hold up? Just curious because I know they're plastic and aren't available from fourgreen anymore.

The cover would have to fit under the power steering return line on the right hand side
+ fit under the power steering vacuum ball on the left hand side.
Minimum clearance would be greatly appreciated.

There would be enough room, should someone choose to mount a cable actuated auxiliary horn.
