  • wooden hatch floor in aspire

my car is a 95 aspire just so yall know

i know a few ppl have done this but the flimsy cardboard wanna be crap in the hatch i want to take out and but a piece of plywood on the whole metal floor but raise it up bout 3" so i can store tools under it, my question is, would 1/2" plywood be good enough? or should i use 3/4"

    what do ya think?

    3/4 too heavy
1/2 maybe too heavy also .
1/4 should do it , unless you are going to stack heavy stuff on it .
I keep extra tools in mine also in the spare well , along with a extra coil and ignitor assy. and a new fuel pump

If you are going to put the tool box on it , you better go with at least 1/2 "
If there is a doubt go heavy , I just would not want a 3/4 piece in the rear , that would take away at least 10 hp .

ya i would be reluctant to put 3/4 in unless id have to, and 1/4 is still somewhat flimsy unless its reinforced good

Go 1/2 inch with some extra bracing where the tool box will sit!

think about using pressure-treated wood. car trunks can hold moisture for a long time and you don't want the wood to rot or the plywood to seperate. stainless or coated screws would also be a good idea.
