  • Door Weatherstripping

I have a like, 3" chunk taken out of the top of my driver's side door weatherstrip. Not even the whole width of the strip, just a hunk out of the top edge. Anyway, it's apparently letting water in. Is there any way to cut out and splice in a scrap piece, or is it the type of thing where no matter how much you try, it'll still let water in? I'd rather avoid replacing the whole thing if i can. Because I'm sort of lazy and cheap. Opinions?

go to local hardware store and buy some automotive weather stripping the stick on kind, then just place a piece of that right above the chunk then right below it or cut it out and put it in till its in the width of the stuff, just check it once in a while because the adhesive will give out, i had this on the gremlin and worked pretty good once it got broke in from the door shape lol

You can buy weather strip adhesive at auto parts stores. You might be able to glue a patch in with that.

cool. thanks, guys. maybe i'll try gooping up some sort of solution.

I also just noticed my passenger side window wasn't closing all the way because the front edge wasn't in the track. geez. These window mechanisms seem really cheap and crappy. heh.
