shifter housing on automatic aspire

ok i know nato has done this but how hard is it to get the cover of the shifter in an automatic off to get leds in the sockets, i have a pack of 4 leds right now that i plan on replacing some stuff but i will prolly have to use the socket to hold the leds in as its the ones thats just the bulbs and wires, what else would i need resistor wise?
