ford pretty much chintzed on some of the interior pieces and after the drivers seat vinyl starts ripping after 40K i think the next thing to go is that shift pattern medallion. 10 more thousand miles and the knob is smooth as a baby butt. the only festy i had that still had a shift pattern on it was the 40K mi. one i got now (and yes the drivers seat was ripped ). at least they put the money into the things that matter. i think the 88/89 has the shift pattern molded into it. anyway if you're interested i have a new grey one in packaging untouched by human hands. $25 includes shipping. makes a great xmas tree decoration!

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.

not new but what u might find interesting is the shift knob in my 91 323 is the sam e as the one in my 91 capri and since Mazda seems to keep parts available for their cars alot longer than Ford (i just bought a new part for my girlfreinds 91 protege) maybe your local Mazda dealer can get u a brandy new 323/capri shift knob.

that puzzles me geezerstiva. i was parting out an 88 LX this summer. it had the optional 5-spd and i swear i remember the knob had the shift pattern molded into it. is yours a 4-spd.? i don't know why, but i just like to know all the trivialities about festivas.
