another escort part that fits...

Once again I've been borrowing from the festiva's bigger cousin, the escort. Nate (festivakid88) came down to pick up the B6 yesterday, and we couldn't help but make a jy run while he was here. We were looking for speakers from an escort to mount in my silver car's door panels (which we found btw) and we opened the back of an escort wagon. Nate too one look at the hatch light and said it looked identical to the festiva hatch light. We grabbed it and I installed it today. Works perfect! I also took one of the door open sensors off of our old chevy van and hooked it up inside the hatch. Now when I open the hatch, the light comes on automatically. I still have the switch on the light itself too, so it functions like the dome light now, with the off/door/on option. I'll try to get some pics up later today, but someone is borrowing my camera right now. Next up will be the speakers I pulled from the rear deck of a tracer, and the automatic glovebox light I took from our van. Anyone know of a power wire anywhere on the right side of the dash I can hook the glovebox light to?

for the glove box light i'd use the ciggaret ligheter wire, its the closest constant 12V wire i know of...



glad to hear the hatch light worked, i think i'll try to find a momentary switch too, wish i would have grabbed one from one of the doors @ the JY while we were there.

another thing we tried while @ the JY was the sun visor from an escort, it has and extra tab that gets in the way of the rear view mirror a lil when flipping it down but other than that it is basically the same and screws right in, and it has the mirror on the back...


as far as pics i wish i would have had my camera, the only festiva (labeled a fiesta!) there had some VERY interesiting mirrors! and there was a weird B6 that i wish i had a pic of and some other stuff too. oh well...

Dunno much about the speakers, but they say "D65 China" on the back and they have a great frequency range... they thump hard with the bass. I'll try to get a video of them bumping up and down tomorrow when its light outside

^^ its just the momentary switch off the van door... on when open, off when closed... I still have the hatch light switch thats attatched to the light too, so I can turn it off if I want to.
