Maybe not every windshield can be done , but I have seen them do quite a few , mainly older "lead sleds" and they do use a very wide belt sander too.

Not every chopped car or truck has to have lexan .
Most of the ones I see around here are still running the original glass .

I saw one once. This old guy / tinkerer in St. Pete, FL built a chopped one, and it was electric powered to boot. The festy was a rollover total. He chopped the roof about 4", mainly so he could pull it under the lift in his garage. Don't remember if he used plexi or real glass.

I do remember a Porsche 914 with a chopped /raked windshield that a friend of mine built. It was a cheap slap together job on a rust bucket chassis and he used plexi. Guy that bought it from him wanted a glass windshield in it. It took the glass shop like 4 tries to get one installed that didn't crack during cutting or installation.

I considered it while I was doing one of the Pimptivas... But I realized the cost involved just wasn't worth the final outcome... I think that if I did anything again, I'd do a convertable that ran some sort of tonneau cover for the back (and pray for good weather all the time, haha)...

you dont need custom door windows , all you have to do is chop the roof and roll the window down to where you want ther roof to go back on. do you get what im saying ? im not sure i worded that right

I might actually try it on another festiva I'm thinking about purchasing. Since everyone wants to know what one looks like.....how many inches do you want to see taken off??
