easy 140MPH speedo mod

I was collecting parts to build celicaGTs custom gauge cluster, and I was messing around with the 140MPH protege speedo when I found that its a direct bolt-in for the festiva cluster. You have to take off the trip odometer button, and the faceplate covers over the trip odometer readout, but other than that it fits right in. The only thing you need is a custom skin that is labeled with the 140 instead of the 85... I'll get a pic as soon as I finish the one I'm putting in the silver car, buts its a real simple mod

Interesting, anyone tried a mx3 it goes to 150. But then again thats a full sweep while the protege is a ahalf swept

Is this for a cluster with tach or without?

I did it with one without tach, but I think it should work with a tach one also, and then you could keep the odo trip meter since the tach clusters are already set up for one

So, are you talking about swapping in the whole Protege cluster, or just the mechanism for the speedometer?

just the speedo mechanism... i use the protege speedo assembly and tach assembly to build my 7K/140MPH clusters, and thats how I noticed that the 140 speedo fits in the stock festy cluster
