It's so easy, even happymom can do it :lol:
The only thing I would add to Wil's article is maybe removing your steering wheel cover, it makes it easier to reach underneath to pull the speedo cable out.
But before that, try taking it out of the tranny, unless it's really stuck that's the easiest and will make re-routing the speedo cable easier too.I will NOT drive a minivan

I would add that you should double check your wiring will support a tach before you purchase one. Or, be prepared to add some simple wiring to make it work.
I picked up a tachometer cluster and opened up my dash only to find that my '89 L is missing the wiring for most accessories. Looking at a few different carbed wiring diagrams, you should have a yellow wire with a green stripe coming off the coil to operate the tach.Ex Nemo Non Feces
