Ok guys, consider this a warning, one more post about stealing from JYs and I will lock this thread. The point of this site is to share knowledge and ideas about festies, not about stealing from folks, no matter how bad you think their prices are... also, try and keep things G-rated on the language outside of the arena... thanks
              No festiva for me ATM...

                ^^^+1

I wouldn't do that around here because the pits and rotts will eat you. Every yard I go to the owners live on site and they release dogs in every section at night. Once those dogs get goin' the shotguns aren't far behind. And here in Texas they CAN and WILL shoot you legally.

also, you might have better results posting a [wtb] up in the for sale forum, someone may have some extra parts lying around that they're looking to sell

Post on the local craigslist. There is probably someone parting one out, or who has a junker sitting around they aren't using.

Dogs, guns, angry junkyard owners, jail, how would you feel if you were the one being stolen from,.....all good reasons to not steal. There are more important reasons not to steal. Morals, plain old right and wrong, a higher power??

it is when they scrap everything they get just for the weight of the metal, anyways I thought htchback asked that we not discuss junkyard robbing, lets try to be considerate to him and the op by staying on topic.

^ the guns are the reason I'm too scared to do it. Plus if it happens enough the JY stops letting people into the yard in general. That really sucks

If they can get more money in their pocket by scrapping then it's their right to scrap. Does it suck for those looking for parts they scrap? Sure, but these guys are working for a living. They are trying to make the most they can. Being self employed, I can relate . If I have a part that you want to buy for $15 and I can get $25 to scrap it. Hey I'm taking $25. If I have a car that I can part for $1000 over a year or I can scrap it for $300 today. I'll take the $300 today, because then you can get more cars in, more cars out. More money.
