  • PEDALS!

So, in continuation with my "mod-a-week" goal, I've just added some spanky "tuned" pedals.

The instalation was not so fun, the first set had been opened, returned minus some crucial brakets, then sold to me.

So I drove all the way back to the canuck tire, got a another set for a "break-the-bank" $24.

My gf is picking up her festy tommorow (YAY!), so I had to finish the install tonight,
    in the dark.

It was totally worth it. It's a nice look, and the grip is better. Going to have to get used to the new "feel" as they are larger.

I've also noticed that my clutch pedal "squeaks". I'm going to douse it in wd40. It has fixed it in the past. I just can't deal with both the squeaky pedal & the squeaky shifter. My car sounds like a bird sanctuary.

I really should investigate the shifter being so squeaky... Maybe time for an attempt at a short shifter mod?

my old shifter squeaked a lot, when i took it out for my $.99 shifter it was full of grease, and i had been lubing it every now and then with that thick-silicone spray. i installed my new shifter and no squeaks at all.... i still don't know what was causing it to squeak.

if you thought installing the pedals was harder than it should have been the shifter will be the same way i installed my pedals (including wiring up the lights) in like 20min,,, they are real cool tho.

Whoa, just read your page Nate, awsome car.

You gave me some interesting ideas (insulation). I need to find the name for the bulk version of dynamat and try that. I think dj did something along those lines...

I'm going to try to put some white grease in the shifter first, then I'll get a short shifter kit.

My pedals didn't come with lights. I saw some that did, but it was out of my budget that day.
