  • 323 power windows

Ok, from what i've read, the power window regulators from a 323 will work on a festiva, but they wont go all the way down. someone suggested drilling new holes and mounting the regulator a bit lower. Dose this work? Wouldn't the window not go all the way up if you lowered it?

    thanks

Just buy a aftermarket kit, then you won't have to mess around trying to make it work.

I'll try test fitting some next time I'm at the yard. My goal with the silver car is to have as many mods as brian, but mostly from other cars besides a festiva, and no aftermarket ... that will take a looong looong time though
      No festiva for me ATM...

The 323 ones do work, alicia's car has them. They just dont go down all the way ( 1 in at the bottom).

I think my next thing to do, even before the power windows, is power rear quarter window motors. Our '87 caravan had them, and they help a lot with air circulation at highway speeds. Its just a little motor that drops into a hole in the rear column, and when you hit the button, it rotates and arm that pushes the window open... beats leaning my seat back and popping them manually while driving (which I can actually do and have done many times before, lol)... I'm gonna check out the 323 motors too though, cause our PnP will sell those to my for about $10 each with the switch... speaking of which, where did you mount the switch?

I want to make my rear glass powered like on the broncos. So it would retract into the bottom. That would be sweet, except for sucking up exhaust :-)

not much extra room back there in the tailgate for glass though. I had thought about hinging the rear glass though like my old staiotn wagons did, basically give you a two piece hatch, you could leave the hatch closed and just lift up the glass.

^ I've thought of the power pop outs too. The latter ford minivan ones I was thinking of.

The button is mounted in the hole that the window crank used to be.

I have a 89 LX that has all the Festiva options on it, And I am trying to get all the dealer installed options for it also like cruise control, mudflaps, fog lights, floormats and any other options like power steering, power windows and locks. I want it as loaded as all those luxury cars!

                      found this in my searches,

I would order a kit, but its kinda hard to do when you dont have a credit card. The local yard wants $17 per regulator and $5 per switch :x
