  • Windshield removal

I need to replace the windshield in my new Festy.

How do I get the old one out? A search didn't really turn up much information.

Also, anyone know if windshields from Pilkington are any good? Are they still $50?

I know there is a post on this one....just don't have it handy.
I do know that they are not as easy as you would think...broke one that I was taking out to replace mine...putting it in was a piece of cake though.
    found it....

      That covers most of it.

However none of the posts went into great deal about removing the glass.

The pick n' pull has a Festy with a flawless windshield, and I'd like to remove it without destroying it.

I use a sharpened 1" wide thin bladed putty knife and cut the sealant holding the glass from the inside of the car. Jam it through the sealant in easy to get through spot and then move over about half the width of the blade, work your way through the sealant (repeat as many times as necessary). Haven't broken any glass yet this way.

I worked in a junkyard and one thing we did was remove glass, we did it the same way as kraig but slightly modified. we used the sharpened 1" blade to to cut 5-6" inches of the sealant then we would shove a fine length of wire through the opening and with 2 people. essentially.. saw out the rest of the sealant. works pretty good

or you can find someone who has the tools to remove the glass. that works to
