  • need some opinions on re-badging

since the silver car is BP powered now I thought it would be fitting to give it some badging that hinted at that fact. The first thing that came to my mind was of course to re-badge it as a Festiva GT, using the 88 festiva emblem I have and a GT emblem from and Escort GT. I went to the yard today to look at the wiring on BP to make sure I got it right this time (always had a couple glitches before). While I was there I got a GT emblem, and here's what it looks like with the festiva emblem

pretty neat, but they kinda don't match cause the festiva is raised plastic and the GT is a domed rubbery kind of substance.

Anyway, another thing I found at the yard was a Tracer LTS... so I snagged the badge from that too, since its a BP car as well... here's what it looks like

The font doesn't match perfectly, but they are both raised plastic. Anyway, I'm open to opinion on either one of these badges or any alternatives you guys can dream up... thanks!
    No festiva for me ATM...

I allway thought that converting it to the following would be neat..

      Mazda 121

      Festiva GT

      Festiva SHO

Festiva SVT............ my personal favotite! it would make people really wonder if the festiva came in a limited production under the SVT line!

Also it would be fun to put turbo on the back hatch......but then it would not be a sleeper!

thanks matt, I'd forgotten about that thread, its been a while... I'm a little too poor for that kinda thing right now though (but my yard lets me have all the factory emblems I want for free )... Sleeper, thats a great idea about the SVT, I hadn't thought of that... they made a Focus SVT (and though I shudder at the very mention of the focus, its still a hatchback, lol) so why shouldn't there have been an SVT festiva... if it did exist it probably would have had the BP, lol. Festiva SHO would be my first choice except I'm a huge taurus fan and I just can't get my mind around the blasphemy of badging something without an SHO motor as an SHO, lol. The reason I'm fine with badging it as an SVT is that SVT isn't a specific motor, just "special vehicle team" and I think a motor swap qualifies a festiva for being a "special vehicle"... and obviously GT and LTS is acceptable because thats what it is under the hood
          No festiva for me ATM...

Keep in mind that there are sevral fords in the SVT line-up so it would not really seem far fetched........... focus SVT , Mustang SVT and Contour SVT.....my buddy had a SVT contour.....high output V6 with a 5 speed tranny leather and anything else you can slap on a contour......that thing had BALLS!!!!

I was thinking there is an other option......

The festiva was long gone before SVT was started so.........why not think outside the box

Why not re-badge a festiva as a mercury.........now here me out on this!

Take all the Mercury emblems off a Mercury Tracer mount them on the festiva and take off the T on Tracer

Yep now you drive a Mercury racer!

better yet if you are running a B6T then a Mercury racer turbo!!!

I'm also going to see if I can take a oldsmobile chrome emblem and use other chrome emblems from yards to put together

                    OLD SCHOOL

I have to agree on the 1st pic, htchbck. I like the GT.
I have a mate who drives a 'HOLDEN' (pontiac-ish) He switches the letters so it reads 'HOLDON'.
And i also saw another where the car was a Hyundai 'Getz', there was a badge underneath that said 'TUFFED'. 'GETZ-TUFFED'!
                      CLASSIC!!

                      anyways, i'd go with GT.

I agree with GT, or the SVT.

There are a large number of cars, Ford and otherwise, with the GT label. Finding a GT badge that will compliment, if not match, the festiva badge, should not be hard.

^^^ i agree, it sounds faster, but i'm still kinda leaning toward the sleeper idea... which the LTS would go well with cause not many people would understand it, and the ones that do get it will know exactly what it means and start asking questions, lol...
                            No festiva for me ATM...

i saw a pic somewhere of a festiva that had the festiva badge and a mustang GT badge right next to it. the GT was bigger, but the font looked like it matched. it looked like it was made that way. the mustang one is also raised plastic i believe. to me it looked just like the festiva one. i like this or the SVT.
