      Been clocked going 114 in my festiva. Somehow I got off on the ticket..cop didn't show

        I'm afraid to go over 85...

        An accident would equal certain death at that speed. Or the thing might shake to pieces first.

              Yes it will mess up the spedo mine now "shakes" when I go between 60 and 85 more so at 65 though for some reason . . .

                well, had never even seen this thread before probably because it is so old... but back to the orginal question, yes, its possible to modify a factory festiva cluster to goto 140MPH... just get the speedo and face from a 91-94 protege... or you can print up your own face here... bolts right into orange festy clusters, requires a littly notching of the back plastic on the white ones.

                No festiva for me ATM...

                      nope, and I too have burried the neddle on BOTH of my '88s (one stock, the other has a B6) both have stock cams and intakes (carbed).
                      Trees aren't kind to me...

                      currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
                      94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.
