  • RX7 Steering Wheel and missing horn centercap

I got an RX7 rubber four spoke steering wheel out of the yard last week and I'm testing it out on Luxstiva to see how I like it (for Twinstiva, the future Speedstiva). So far so good, but it didn't come with a horn button.

    I found this on ebay:

I think my wheel was out of a late seventies/early eighties RX7, but I forgot to get the exact year. Will this button fit my wheel?

    Here is my wheel type:

Now that I see both at once, it looks exactly the same.

Does anyone know if there were other same year Mazda wheels that used this center cap? If so, I'll check the yard again rather than pay $10 plus $6 shipping for this one.

    Thanks,

    Karl

This morning I'm prolly doing my left CV axle. Maybe tomorrow it'll be another junkyard trip. I'll look at all the older Mazdas for this piece, and get two if possible!

I'd hate paying $16 just for a horn button since I only paid $10 for my wheel. It needs some metal refinishing. I think I'll paint it crinkle black. The rubber rim seems okay.

Yeah, let me know, the guy on Ebay says he has three, so I might just spring for one.... with the price of gas, it would cost me $3.50-$5.00 to drive to the junkyard and back.... lol... (40-50 miles round trip...)
