  • festy dash?

i want to paint my dash, but have no clue how to get it out of the car, i've removed as many nuts, bolts, and screws that i can find, but she won't come out. any advice?

Yeah there is only 3 nuts on top, one on each side between the door and dash behind a access panel. Then 2? behind the center consol. Then one on each side underneight below the speakers (should be gold colored). Other than that there is some climate control cables to take off but it should come out. It may hang up on the steering column, so you might want to remove those bolts and push it down when you pull out the dash.

I know that mine got stuck up with the climate controls... You'll also need to disconnect the speedo cable and plugs to the speedo cluster.

You actually have to lift UP on the dash before pulling out too. When I removed the dash from all my cars, I never dropped the steering column though... Just take the wheel off and that'll give enough room to get it off.

speedo is three screws on the top underside of the bezel once removed you will be able to get at the 4 screws behind it. then I suggest unscrewing your tach cord from the trans then it should come forward easily.

It really isn't that hard once you figure it out, I did the same thing with like 30 nuts and bolts, before I realized the tube frame is actually part of the dash.

3 screws on the top of the cluster surround, 2 on the bottom, that'll pull out. Disconnect any of the switches in there. Then 4 screws to pull the cluster out. You can reach your hand up on the right side of the dash to unplug the speedo cable. You can unscrew it from the tranny... But I just went into the engine bay and YANKED on the cable... It pulled off the back of the cluster a few times without any problems... In my BP Tiva... I removed EVERYTHING from under the dash... There's no heater core ducts, HVAC controls, etc... So it's real easy to reach anything back there...

And yes, the frame comes out as part of the dash.
