  • paint idea. what do you think

i came up with an idea for my paint on my 90 festiva. i whipped up a real quick sketch of it. tell me what u think of it. im going to do a better drawing of it sometime this weekend with the rims on it that i found for it. here it is i hope u all like it.
it may not be fast but ill pass u when u run out of gas

not bad... I saw a pickup truck with something similar once. It looked hideous on the truck, but it complements the festiva's lines pretty well I think. Just out of curiosity, did you happen to scan a pic of the basic outline of the car before you drew the graphics on? If so then that would be a great starting point for those of us who are less artistically gifted than you who want to try new graphics... we could print it out then draw graphics on it like a coloring book
    No festiva for me ATM...

the sketch of the car is really good,

but the flames are a bit too ricey/tacky for me.

oh well ive always been a fan of flames. i was just going to have it two toned with a blue pins stripe to brake them up but thought it looked to plain. i have done some flamed taillights for some of my friends and am thinkin of doing that to my car as well. its either that or section them off like the 66 mustang tailights with the three on each side. havent decided for sure yet.

Have you seen the videogame "Juiced"?
You can concoct a paint mix there that suits your taste. It has options for base color, pearl color and mica color, with matching decals.

IMO, if you want a paintjob that is easy to repair/retouch, go straight from the can then make up for the plainness with a lot of shine/buffing. Urethane paint should be the norm.
I have the last laugh... ;D
