  • does this sound stupid?

All right, Well i have been a member of this board for a while and hardly post mainly lurk but to the point. I've had my festiva for a while its a 90 5spd nothing speacil well its got a blown motor and i got a line on a replacement but, I was thinking would it be possible to make a lil' hot rod ,I mean 32' ford style cut the roof off shorten the windshield maybe cut the front away slap a old 32 grill on it and some moon hubcaps, some spotlight headlights and slap a fresh coat of flat black on it or maybe someone has already done it, If so please post a pic or if somones good with photshop hook it up......

I know cutting some of the front parts off may not be possible because of the front wheel drive structure but its just an idea so don't flame to hard.

No one has done it, and if you did that would be awsome! I can picture what your talking about and that would look really cool. Realize though you would have to modify the tops of the doors as well which would be really tricky along with all that custome glass. I heard that you can just grind down the window with the right tool, but I have never seen it done.

Good night it is now 2 am and I need to go to bed :-)

It would surely be a good amount of work. I have seen festivas with moon hubcaps. Also there is a round headlight conversion if thats what you meant by "spotlights". And the flat black has found its way on a few tivas (including mine in a few weeks) And there was a "Chop top" thread a short time ago. You'd surely have a one of a kind festiva if you continue your plans. As far as the engine.... are you just putting in another b3...or something a "lil' hot rody"

Yeah, I was sitting here looking at a hot rod mag and looking out the window at the festiva. Maybe shave the back and add some of those bullet style taillights like a 59 caddy, add on to the shifter hadle so it looks like a rat fink car i think i might try it as soon as work slows down....it'd be interesting to say the least

Just a stock motor for now ,Just thinking it'd be a blast around town get people wondering.

lengthen the front end out and drop a 302 in some custom rails and then put the old t-bucket tall glass in it with the long glass support arms, then tub the rear and mount a ford 9 inch under there and make a custom drive train hump through the center I think this would look great . . . you could even keep the rear seat just move it all the way back to the choped hatch for added leg room
