  • Adapting bumpers for the Festy

I was wondering how you people adapt bumpers from other cars to the Festiva, like, for example, Cam Waugh's Fastiva, which had Civic bumper "narrowed and shortened to fit"...What does that mean? Did he just cut a section of the plastic Civic bumper shell to fit the Festiva bumper beam, or did he narrowed the whole Civic bumper unit, complete with foam backing???
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Yes , he also used the lower facia from a Ford Splash .

You cut out of the center what you need to narrow it .

"Yes" as in "he narrowed the whole bumper unit" or "yes" as in "he only took out a section of the plastic cover to fit it over the stock Festiva bumper beam?

There was a topic on this I think. A lot of the Pride guys from overseas have modified bumpers. I think EVOGUN did one as well....

I'd say "he only took out a section of the plastic cover to fit it over the stock Festiva bumper beam"

You're referring to us, Kia Pride Club Philippines. What we do is take the top part of the stock bumper then saw off the bottom part. We get another bumper from the car that we want to copy then saw the top part. We rivet the two sections to size, smoothen with body filler, prime and paint.
I have the last laugh... ;D

more details please maybe a some pics along the process havin a hard time mentally picturing what you mean by sawing two bumpers in half and riviting them. Like I can picture it but no idea how to do it on my own and make it look decent and not like a sac of knobs

I keep seeing a lot of posts talking about mods with Civic parts. What is it about Civics that makes them so adaptable? I have a '91 behind my shed that I can use. I already have plans for the hatch wing.
                  Cheers!

Nothing particular, just the fact that Civic parts can be had for cheap and can be found anywhere...
