  • Put FMS springs and KYB GR2's on my new one

Damn, it's LOW.. rubbing on the 185/60r13 Sumitomos I just put on..

I had to put a few of those rubber coil spacers and hammer back the lip on the fender to keep it from rubbing... this doesn't seem right...

    anyway, pics......

that's odd as i'm running 185/60/14's and don't have a problem with rubbing. granted, i DID roll the fender lips for added clearance, and after the install i also needed an alignment (toe in from the drop). also i noticed a rub in the rear while cornering hard (tire touching spring perch). i figure that if i switch to the aspire struts, i'll have the clearance i need. one thing i don't like about the FMS units: while the drop is great and looks fabulous, there's not enough spring rate to run wider tires without worring about rubbing in the turns. those springs were designed for stock wheels or thin 13s.

Yeah, these are the springs and struts I had on my blue car, maybe a stressed them out a bit autocrossing with the slicks...

I think they are coming off, as the ride, with the spacers added is just too bouncy and stiff... lol... oh well, I tried.. I will probably keep the gr2's on it, and put the stock springs back on it.
