  • another woman with a festiva

Hi all! thanks in advance for your assistance
I happen to acquire a 89 and, after driving it for awhile, have come to really LOVE it.... It runs really good and is very reliable. I want bigger tires and a "cooler" look than the 12" stock thats on it......yet, I dont have lots of money so i need to consider cost...., gas mileage, ect... I was told at the Columbus ohio ford swap by "admires" of my little car that chevy metro rims will fit - this will keep my tire price under 200 for all four tires..... can anyone advise me, please....... :newb:

I don't believe the metro rims are the correct bolt pattern. I think the metro uses the 4x100 bolt pattern whereas the festiva uses the 4x114.3 bolt pattern. If you are in the Ohio area though there are probably some members on here near your area that can point you in the right direction as to where to find some good used rims that will fit.
    No festiva for me ATM...

i know old geo metro rims will fit as ive used them before, but im not sure if they changed the pattern when they updated to the second generation and changed to chevy metros.

www.tirerack.com may have answers on the new metro patterns?

      EDIT:

i did some research and found that even the later year metros with 13" wheels are also 114.3x4 so yes metro wheels will work from all years.

I wanted some Nokian snow tires, but I had to go with 175/70-13s because they didn't make them in 165/70-13 sizing.

Along with 175/70s, the other "smallest regularly in stock" tire would be the 155/80-13. Either one will work fine on an unlowered Festiva. You're speedo and fuel mileage figuring differential will be 7.4 percent with either tire height (they're almost identical).

Besides Metro rims, there's older Hyundai Excel wheels and some 14" wheels for the Hyundai Accent GT and GS. Older RX7 wheels may also fit.

If you get the Aspire suspension/brake swap done, your wheel choices go way up for the new 4 X 100mm pattern. That's what I have.

There is a sticky at the top of the forum that shows some other wheels that will fit. And I always go to the Ford swaps in Columbus too! Was your car white with a red Festiva stripe?
