  • Hub caps

I lost a hub cap. They are just held on by pressure. It helps to tap them with a hammer off the car on the edge to keep the pressure up. I did that but one still fell off anyway. I noticed it missing last fall when putting on the snow tires. To protect the axle nut I made a substitute hubcap out of an aluminum can held on with copper wire and that lasted all winter. When I put the summer tires back on this week I replaced it with an aluminum "pie plate" off a meat pie or something which was the right size. I put two on together for added durability. Last fall I posted a photo in Facebook Festiva group of the aluminum can substitute and plan to take and post a photo on Facebook of this new arrangement. You can also pay for new hub caps off the Internet.
