camber plates

It's gorgeous, not sure what it's made from, don't really care. The wheel arches are WAY cut down, use the reference of the body line... the arches are 4 inches or more higher than stock, front AND rear.

It's complete custom, either way.

You should not put camber plates in, you lose a lot of suspension travel. Your better using camber bolts they do about 1.5 deg. later this year may have better news for all you auto-x guys, as we are testing a new product.
More new on this later when I have time for pics and info.

I have camber bolts in, and I am not getting anywhere NEAR 1.5 degrees from them... I guess I could put them in the bottom hole too... I am looking for about 2 degree total.. these Hoosiers like Neg Camber....

Why do camber plates make your car loose suspension travel? Also where can we get camber plates that would fit? Mazda protege maybe?

LOL fellas there not for our application but a company by the name of roadraceingineering.com makes them. That's an applicationn for a mitsu mirage. There very close in meaments as is the first gen dsm eclipse/laser/talon fwd

There's the website. I know for a fact that the 1st gen eclipse have a 2 bolt top mount on the front strut assembly. I'll go take some pictures right now providing that the strut bar is still in the garage and not at my parents

the only thing i can see that is different about that car is the wheel arches have been cut....they are round as were the standard wheel arch is flat at the top...

right enough... he lowered the suspension and the body itself... no slack for the tires so he had to cut them fenders

ok to end all the guessing games here are the facts:

its a 4 door kia pride, and since 2 door festys are hard to come by in the Philippines the owner decided to do the conversion. he imported festy doors slapped it on the car and moved the B pillar a little bit to the rear.

its really not that much work, and belive me this is the more cost effective way than buying or importing a festy. only difference is the kia pride is 2 inches longer so the rear windows of a festy wont fit. his solution, use plexi glass

the car is fitted with adjustable coilovers including the camber plates. as for the suspension travel, i think what evogun meant was that camber plates are thicker than the stock mounting block ergo reducing the travel. easily remedied by modifying the shock towers so that its higher than the stock to allow more travel :idea:

yep the wheel arches were cut to high heavens to allow 15 inchers to fit. the rear arches were even cut as far as the wheel wells go.

as for the structural integrity being compromised.... well the car has been through numerous autocross events, have won numerous trophies, and except for the blown tranny after every two races the car is pretty much in one piece up until today 8) id say its race worthy

if the upper part of the strut fits through the bearing, you could always just redrill and reposition the outer bolts to fit/mate to the festy chassis, right? i know that requires some extra work but it seems like it would at least be an option...at least until someone starts making these...

id also be happy to go talk to road race in person if need be. maybe they can have some run that have repositioned upper mounts, etc. im in LA and they arent terribly far away.
