  • Tire dilema... what's your opinion

    Hello all,

175-60 13 tires are next to impossible to find right now and I don't think it's going to get any easier. What would you do....?

185-60-13's... not too much bigger than the 175's, probably wouldn't have any interference issues on the back and they are available

175-70-13's... most likely too tall and would rub on the rear struts and really throw off the speedometer

165-65-13's... I don't really want to go smaller

I'm currently running Falken 175/60-13 on Mazda 13"x5" alloys, KYB GR2's and FMS lowering springs

I'd obvioulsy like to keep the wheels I have but anyone has another suggestion I'm open.

    Thanks in advance,

^^ x2. if i have 4-6 people they will scrub on a dip, but not much, and i have blown struts on stock springs in the rear. front has no clearence issues.

175/70 are cheap and easy to find tires and make good all-seasons. if you plan on racing or like to get into the corners a lot go for 185/60. If you do a lot of hwy travel 155/80 will get you the best mpg's and are also cheap.

6 people in a festiva? Nate have 3rd row seating? Or does one of the passengers have to ride in the spare tire well??

i've done 6 on many occasions... the back seat is big enough for 4 people! I've done more than 6 too, but only around the parking lot and stuff. i've taken 6 as far as 15-20 miles though. If i were to remove the rear seat there would be room for way more than 6! just not quite as safe 0,o

take out the seat and install belting like in the military jump planes lol that would be great . . . then you just need to install a motor to open and close the hatch with a "go light"

Being a fatty as well, I gotta say these festiva's make an awesome use of space and is a very comfy car to be in. Getting out of these things is so easy since the door is gigantic compared to the car size lol

yes the car is like 90% door haha. I saw a thing from ford where they compared a festiva, a escort, and a excel. The excel had a 3 inch longer wheelbase then the festiva, and was 20 inches bigger overall, but the festiva had like 3 more feet of interior room haha its great
