  • Before I Pull The Trigger! v. Struts/Springs/Wheels/Tires

To make a long story short, my Festiva is waiting for a new engine. I want to ask what you guys think about this set up. Please give me any suggestions or info about anything.

    Struts: KYB GR2's: $180

    Front Left: Part #232022
    Front Right: Part #232021
    Rear X2: Part #340009

    Springs: FMS Sport Springs: $100

    Wheels: Primax 14" Rims: $330
    Size: 14X6
    Bolt Pattern: 4X100 & 4X114.3
    Offset: 38mm

    Tires: Toyo Proxes T1R 195/45/14: $338

    Questions:

    1. With this setup I from what I read I shouldn't expect any kind of rubbing issues correct?

    2. Would these tires be suitable to drive in Cleveland, Ohio (Lots of potholes and bad road)

    3. Can you recommend me a good set of lug nuts on ebay or other website. I believe its 12X1.5 pattern.

    Thanks for all the help.[/img]

I have the same basic set up and have no rubbing issues. And I drive around the Cleveland area. I bought some new lugs (chrome) from Summit for my car.

Haha, yeah I used your image because it's the best one I could find I don't know about the tires, from what I read they should hold up pretty good with normal driving of course. Did you get pictures of your car yet with the wheels?

Naw I wont put them on til I get A BUNCH of other stuff done first. Interior is the big thing Im working on right now. Also trying to locate a good parts car(not necessarily a Festiva) with a B6 in it.
Of course cashflow or the lack thereof plays a part in how quickly this goes too.

Stop over before Ohiostiva, we have the best pizza in Parma! Hopefully I will have my car running by then, if not i'll take the TC. I never went to one before so I'm really looking forward to it. Unfortunately I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I have an awesome mechanic doing all the work, but if I need some expertise I will definitely contact you.

No way, small world? What was her name, I'm trying to figure out who you know. Kimi?

Well, I have a White 1988 Festy, the body and interior and both in pretty decent shape. I think I got a rod knock so I bought a new engine. My mechanic is supposed to be putting it in soon. He said he reconditioned the head and is going to start sealing it up soon and drop it in. I'd like to find a 5spd to put in as well because I'm going to put in a new clutch while he's doing the engine. Also, I want to start working on the suspension with the above equipment. I'd really like to do the aspire brake swap, but I'm not a mechanic, and my mechanic would probably look at me retarded if I told him what I wanted to do. Lotta other plans to say the least...too little funds lol. Oh yeah, paint too
