I was under the egg the other day and got to thinking - is there any difference in the suspension and brakes from the 94-96 vs the 97 or was the 97 merely a cosmetic change? with minor electrical changes?

As far as I know the main differences in the '96-'97 models were the OBD-II system, and cosmetic body changes for the '97. Also, some models will have anti-lock brakes, for some brake and front strut changes. (I've never even seen this option.)
I have seen suspension from '94 to '96 and it all looks alike with no changes I know of. I bet others will confirm this.
I think my Aspire suspensions (I've done two swaps) are from '95 and '96 Aspires.
Karl'93GL "Prettystiva" ticking B3 and 5 speed, backup DD; full swaps in spring!
'91L "AquaMutt" my '91L; B6 swap/5 speed & Aspire brakes, DD/work car
'92L "Twinstiva" 5sp, salvage titled, waiting for repairs...
'93GL "Luxstiva," '94 B6 engine & ATX; needs overhauled
'89L "Muttstiva," now a storage bin, future trailer project
