spindle threads pitch?

newly bought festiva has the threads slightly boogered up, I found 16mm left hand dies to chase the threads but they list a thread pitch of 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0( $19.00 ) I would like to try this instead of changing the spindle /rear axle out as this one is going to stay stock. Anybody with an idea which die will work?

Did you determine which thread pitch was the correct one for the spindle? I'm in the same situation with my '90 Festiva and would rather clean the threads than replace the spindle.

I believe they are 1.5 but just to be sure I know someone on here has a Hayne's manual that has the answer for certain...
