FestivaMotorsports sells lowering springs. You can also adapt universal coilover bodies and run universal springs... If you're really looking to spend some cash, find a Tein dealer and order a set of those... But they'll set you back $650 + shipping and up.

Or... You can do like I did and spend $2,500 on a custom air suspension setup. There is no suspension setup better at "slamming it" than an air ride setup.

Everything from progressive rate springs, to coilovers, to bagging. It's all been done, and you can find writeups on the site. I have 3 cars with the springs, myself. May try the coilovers this winter....

ahh speaking from experience avoid the beemer, extremly maintenance intensive, and if you dont maintain it at great injury to your wallet, they break, and its exven more expensive to fix, i have a 1987 325i with mild mods, and its on its 4th engine now, barely 130000 miles, they are also spooky on anything but dry pavement, forget about driving it in the snow, also tires are a pain for it since its stock rims are 14s, ive worked on the 1994 to 2001 bmws and they are slightly better in the wet, but even more expensive to own, insurance on them, especially for a young driver, is really high also. id stick with the festiva myself, ive owned 5 so far, and with a little work they will destroy a bmw hands down in every category except the social status, and one short ride around the block will fix that. how much cash do you have to spend on the car? id like to know that before i point you in any direction.
is not sposed ta do that...
        05 subaru legacy gt
1991 nissan nx2000(almost awesome as a festiva, my first failed mtx)
1988(?) festiva LX 5spd (rescued from crusher, aspire swap done, working on turbocharging the 1.3...)

^^ ive got a a buddy with a M30 series 325is with over 200000 miles on the original engine. Never has problems except maintence. I will agree though, the regular stuff is much more expensive.

BMW's are fold old folks who want luxury with a little sportiness... why would you want one at 15?

I did a head gasket on a 735i this summer, it had the M30 engine, very solid engine but prone to overheating problems... also the car was slower than crap on the bottom end. pain in the butt to work on and suppper expensive to get parts for.

as far as lowering your festy, search for coilovers, i've got a small writeup and quaddawg does too, among others. depends on how much fabbing you can do, what kinda money you want to spend, and what you want your end results to be.
