  • Wheel stud length?

Okay, so I got the aluminum rims, and I have 1/4" spacers for the rear, my question is, what length studs should I get? The wife drove the car today, so I can't just go look/measure. :/ I'm thinking 1.75", cuz 1.5" looks like it'd be way short, and 2.25" may be overkill. The lugnuts are open ended, so I don't have to worry about bottoming out. Anyone have any input/experience? Here's a thought...what is the length of a factory lugbolt?

    Thanks again guys,
    Donovan

I have a stock one in front of me...I'd guess it's about 1.5", or maybe 1.75", including the head. Probably about .75" of thread though.

factory lug bolt has 0.75" of thread grip, 1.63" Overall length with 14mm hex head..

if you have 1/4" spacers, here's what i'd check:
get your new wheels and put them up to the hub as if you were to mount them with your spacers in place... estimate how much you need based off of your stock lug bolt...

Here is what I have found on mine:
I have 13" Mazda GLC wheels with 0.300" spacers and I used 12mm x 1.50 Conical seat 33mm shank (thread) on the rear, and the same lug bolt with 23mm shank on the front. By the way, the 33mm shank was too long on the front, thats why i got the 23mm on the fronts. 25.4mm = 1 inch for conversion
These where $1.69 on www.ezaccessory.com, cheaper than http://www.gorilla-auto.com/lug.bolts.and.bolt.locks (I called them and they were $2.26 apiece)

What is the determining factor is that the lug bolts can only go so far, they get threaded into the hub or whatever it is called and then goes another 1/4" before they hit the front of the rotor..... so if you get them too long, they will hit this and won't keep the wheel up snug...
so measure and estimate what lengths you will need. You have that 1/4" behind the hub to work with, don't overshoot, undershoot.. but still enough to provide sufficient thread grip.. This all depends on the wheel...
Also consider that the CB ( center bore ) of the festiva stock wheel is 59.6mm and other wheels need to be at least that in order to fit...
