  • Upgrade tire question.

    Hey guys,

What tire size do you guys run on upgrade 13, 14, and 15 inch rims? I'm trying to find a tire for a 14 inch rim that would be about the same size as stock but alas, I can't find SQUAT.

      almost exact is 195/45-14

I run a 195/45-15 about the same % off as the 14 just in the opposite direction

I found some 195/55/14's I want to give a try. I'd been running 185/60/14's, and then 175/70/13's on my 13" wheels. the 185/60/14's scrub a little now and then, even on coilovers etc., but not real bad, and you can find them cheap.

I can't find 195/45/R14s anywhere online. I'll check my local tire stores when I can.

chrisofna, I may be wrong, but I think Toyo is the only ones that makes that size(Toyo Proxies) There might be another co., but I can't recall(Faulkin?) Here in Hawaii, they are not cheap @ $110. ea. and that's my brother's distributor cost!!!!!

Toyo has another Proxie size 195/55/14(21.4" dia. vs 195/45/14 20.9" dia.), the width is a hair wider than the 45's. I will check them out after I wear these 195/45 out. Wonder what's the price difference between the two?

All in all, even though a bit pricey, couldn't be happier with the Toyo's

All 195 tires have the same width. It means 195mm. The 45, 55, 65, etc is a ratio to the width of 195. So a 195/45 has a width of 195mm and an aspect ratio of 87.75mm (195 times .45) or about 3.45" above and below the rim. A 195/55 would be 195mm wide and have 4.22" above and below and so on.

I have the Toyo 195/45-15's and they are great except in the snow. I think Racing slicks would be better than these thingies.
