  • Opinion on these BMW minilite wheels

Saw a good set of wheels at a junkyard today but didn't pick them up. They are 13x5.5 and were stamped "made in britain". They were on an old '77 beat up BMW. I'm planning on an aspire swap and think they would fit (i know they are 4x100). At $30 a piece do you guys think I should go back in the morning to get them? Opinions please!

I think those would look mighty sweet on a Festiva! $30 apiece is a little steep unless they are in REALLY good shape...

hey! my dad has a 1976 BMW 2002 with those wheels !!
yeah, i think $120 is worth it for the set, if they are in good condition... i can't recall what the stock tire size is for the 2002. are the tires any good?

Yeah, I thought it was a little steep for being junkyard wheels. That's why I decided against them. I already have a set of miata daisy wheels, but these are tempting cause they're 13's

The wheels are in decent condition. Definitely need a cleaning though. The tires are pretty much trash which sucks because I think they charge more for the wheels since they have the tires on them!

you know, if they are like the JY's around here, buy them, save your receipt, take the tires off and return them and get your money back for the tires. check into it at least.
for 13's, those are some very slick looking wheels... if anything, i am sure someone on here would want them....

Now I really want to go back tomorrow and get them. Seems like I could get a better deal on 13" tires and have an easier time of making them fit without rubbing.

Ended up not getting these wheels. They were all in nice shape, but I didn't realize that three of them are the 18 spoke "minilite" style, and one was a 20 spoke "alpina" style. They look similar though

yeah, there is a set of nice early 323 (festiva pattern) aluminum wheels at my yard that I haven't picked up because there are only three and I'm pretty sure I'd never find a fourth... though my yard only charges $10 a pop so I may get them saturday anyway since tomorrow is payday lol. Be nice to have some good looking wheels for the next festy I buy until I get around to doing an aspire swap lol

Why are they always missing that fourth wheel? It's a conspiracy....whoever it is that steals one sock from the dryer is also hitting up the yards and taking one wheel from every car!

here is what i have found about the 4 wheel "always" being missing... look around the vehicle that is missing the wheels.. under other cars, inside other cars, trunks... like a 5 car radius of the car missing the 1. Thats where I've found the missing wheel.... many times.
In your case Lane, if it already had the odd wheel on it.. hmmm you may be out of luck.. but then again if you have another reason to go back to that yard, check around some more...
