I would assume you've had first hand experience of this happening? Because you saying this is the first report I've seen of this.

I bought a set of those coilovers with basically the same idea you had, use the perches and buy new springs. As soon as I got them I realized they were pot metal and sold them on craigslist. One of the perches was chipped just from bumping against the other perches in the box during shipping.

I got the ebay coilovers for my car. The spring rate is like 400# lol, very harsh ride, stays flat on hard corners. The diameter of the adjuster sleeve is larger than the strut tube, so I wrapped the strut with duct tame for a tight fit. I have egt 14's with 18560 tires and they tuck. My current setup is ebay coilovers in front with 2 1/2 cut coil stockers on the rear. The ride was way WAY too bouncy with them on the rear, keeping them up front to keep suspension travel to a minimum sinceIi dont like it when I drag that pretty aluminum oil pan down the road. And about the potmetal perches, they are aluminum and have no worries of them breaking, I have hit some NASTY bumps/potholes at high speed and no damage done.

I am looking into installing some RTR custom performance coilovers I bought a few years back for my Geo storm gsi. There rather small and can hold 400lbs easily. They are adjusted for a 3" drop.

          Sorry to interfear, carry on.

No interference. We appreciate others input and would like to know if they will fit a Festiva with minimal modifacation.
            Pics are always good too.

I am going to inspect tomorrow and see if I can find a desent camera. They were pretty basic coilovers. They had diffrent adjustment screws for diffrent struts. That and the geo storm is just alittle bit bigger car. I will keep you guys informed.

It'd be kinda cool if they fit nicely, but since the Storm is Isuzu less than likely it wont be a drop-in. Could be close though.
