  • Stud Conversion & Lug Nuts Help

I want to convert my car to studs/lug nuts instead of the standard lug bolts. Below are the products that I have found, please give suggestions whether or not they fit. Also, should I get the 1.5 inch or 1.75. Thanks for all the help in advance.

    Wheel Studs 12x1.50mm 1.5" long

    Wheel studs 12x1.50mm 1.75" long

Wheel studs 12x1.50mm 1.75" long (Different Site)

I have the 1.75's, and they seem to be perfect for OEM and most aftermarket wheels.

when I had my festiva. I used the 1.75 and some funky type lug nuts for the toyota wheels I used. they worked out perfect.

So, i'll go with the 12 X 1.50, 1.75 inch long studs then. I heard a little under 2 inches is good. Also, those lug nuts will be compatible right? I just wanted to double check.

          Thanks for the help Jim.

So it looks like these studs and lug nuts, any objections?

Yet another item I've put off for forever. I've taken off my honda wheels so they arent really needed right now. Thanks for more links. I can get them off racing sites, but dont want to spend racing prices for a commuter car.

i noticed that the .89 cent studs do not seem very long where they screw into the hub. I know we get a lot more than 5 threads with stock lug bolts when using stock wheels. would this be a problem?

Oh cool. Did a search for "black nuts" and got what i needed! Only the nissan nuts were listed but they do carry black nuts in our size. What is the difference in a bulge and regular end? Im using civic vx wheels.

That's kinda what I'm trying to figure out in this thread. I want to make sure the studs and lug nuts are compatible and safe.

I would try to find lug nuts with a 19mm or 3/4" hex instead of 13/16". The large size of the 13/16" eats up a lot of space inside the lug well on aluminum wheels, and you may not be able to get a socket on it. No difference in strength between the two sizes.
