  • upside down aspire sway bar w/ pics

i have had the aspire sway bar from when i stripped the aspire at the yard. it was sitting under my house collecting dust and i decided to put it on the other day. the problem was that i have the gm25r tranny with the hydrolic clutch and it was in the way of where the sway bar goes. so i decided to flip it.

the only problem on the install was that i had to cut a notch out of the crossmember. i had no problem doing this as there is a piece of 3/16 plate welded on top of the crossmember right above the notch.

I made a solid front motor mount and that took care of my wheel hop.

That rear motor mount might make a help if it werent broke. I dont have the Aspire sway bar under mine yet. How much of a difference is it. Im sure your putting down a little more horses than me.

You could add a lot of strength to that notch if there was a section of steel tubing of the right diameter welded in that covered the degrees of radius of the notch.

I've bought Moog bushings for the swaybar to control arm connection. They are blue poly.

Here is a link to the ones I've bought.

i got the moog bushings there at the swaybar/control arm joint.
for those who wonder... i was driving really fast today in some corners and the car seemed to stay really flat. especially in long sweeping corners where i was hammering the throttle.
                          i really like it

Ok was it the tranny or the hydrolic clutch that was in the way?
