  • aspire / escort swap

i just got my escort caplipers and when i bolt them to the aspire knuckle they wont clear the 10.2 rotors. They are for a 91 escort gt and the casting says 22v on one side and 14 on the other. Do you guys know whats up?

i have them on my car and im using the 9.2 inch rotors, i tried to fit the 10.2 inch rotors and they are to big... i know, i was mad too if you can find some 10.5 inch rotors with the right offset, they would fit perfect. the 9.2 inch ones are a TINY bit to small... but they still work great.

the pads hang over the rotor some. so all of these people with the escort swap have their pads hanging over the top of their rotors. wow, i really wished i would have known this before i even wasted my time.

yep, so i dont really see how using escort calipers with the same aspire rotors helps any bit at all.

Ndice, how about getting the 10.2" rotors turned down at the outside? Would that work? Is that where its rubbing?

this may sound silly but did you change the caliper mount bracket? i dont really recall but... who knows.

capri swap with aspire hubs would have solved this i believe.
IIRC they use the same bearings...

no go on the grinding, it doesnt take much to clear the rotors, but i forgot to measure twice and grind once. The pins that goe through the caliper to hold the pads down now interfere with the rotor. Either way im going back to the junkyard for another caliper bracket
