I have an 88LX. It's a rusty old car that we "saved" and have been using as a cheap dd. Unfortunately, the shocks are pretty worn. We get a rubbing noise from the rear when cornering. I am thinking that the srpings are so worn that the rear sags a bit. Not sure, just speculating.
Anyway, I decided this morning to just go out a buy a new set of shocks/springs for the old car and to my surprise (not really)- no one has anything in stock. Every place I called needs to order the shocks. (Monroe sensa trac?) No one carries replacement springs.
Autozone said they could get a coilover from Edelbrock for $57.99 a piece. First of all I didn't even know that Edelbrock made shocks. Second, do I really need a coilover? I just want a simple swap in deal that is cheap and easy. Hopefully one that will have a better ride and that will also allow me to clear larger tires/rims, in the near future.
I guess what I'm looking for is a part number or the name of some other car that is maybe more popular that has the stuff I need so that I can buy this stuff off the shelf and take care of it today.
Anyone?
