Honda vx rims

I have been doing some research on different rims and have settled on the Honda vx rims, they are 13X5 weigh 9.8pounds and am unaware what the offset is. My question is what is the widest tire that i can run and what aspect ratio is preferable. Ideally I would like to run 195/45/r13 for the added traction. Also if anyone else is running these rims or something similar i would really appreciate a picture.


I have not found any for sale around where i live yet. I am expecting them to sell for 100-500.

Well, I hope once you find a set that you rig up a way to put those ford center caps on there or find someway to hide that Honda emblem.. sorry... not a big Honda fan

Where would you get 195/45-13s?

If you could get this size, I'd be leery of putting them on only 5" wide wheels. I'd go 5.5" minimum, preferably 6" wide.

If I had those I'd go 165/70 or 165/65.

Also, 175/60 would be nice.

For a real light car, you could go 175/50. I wouldn't use that size for hauling loads or long trips for more than two people with baggage.

Another size that would probably work is 185/60.

If you don't mind a tall tire, 155/80 or 175/70 would do.

minimum 60 series tire for thoose rims and their offset IIRC is 48mm, you may want spacers just to kick them out a bit.

i have 175/70/r13 TOYO"s on them and without any spacers, all i have is the Aspire swap with FMS lowering springs

195/45 on 13's would be even smaller diameter than the stock 165/70 12's...(by 1.2 inches) check out this out: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
If you are running 13's, smallest AR i'd go is 50, and largest 65...

also, be prepared to pay about $300 for a set IF you find a set. those are well sought after by honda enthusiasts, and we all know there are alot of honda enthusiasts. if you get a set, get a set of wheel locks also. believe it or not, thieves around here are starting to steal oem alloys also.

i second that! even the VX is very much sought out b/c of the barometric changes it accounts for to optimize mileage. buddy of mine had one until it got totalled

VX wheels with 145/80-13s would really be great for a low rolling resistance setup, providing the tires were good quality.

Very light wheels with skinny tires. Yum. Go MPGs!

In comparison, Aspire alloys are 13 pounds and are .5" thinner (13 X 4.5").

I actually had no idea where i would get 195/45/r13's i just kinda figured they were out there :tongue3:
My thought is to go as wide as i can because ill be doing an engine swap soon and the added traction would be nice.
Do you think that 185/60 would work without any rubbing?

Ya ive noticed that they arnt that cheap. i think im going to go junkyard searching maybe ill get lucky. I will absolutely get wheel locks. you can never be to careful.

i have a set with 175/50/13's....i love the lightness of them. I switch off with those and my enkei apachie mesh wheels. middle sig pic rear wheel are enkei's with 175/50's
