  • fat tires

Just nailed my rear rim (12")on something that dented the heck out of it. Now what I'm wondering is if there is a fat (6" or wider) 12 or 13 inch rim that would fit on a 91 Festiva. I just want to put more meat between me and the road and I'm just not into the low profile tires. They look cool but are pricey. That and I've got a habit of going over curbs and the like.

they are hard to find just have to get the right bolt pattern. they are out there i believe rodger sells a few just check what he sells and then go search around the net to find them. i forget the actual bolt pattern for the festiva but there are a few 13's and 14's you can find out there. i don't believe you can get 6 inch wheels to fit without rubbing on the fender wells and the struts, but 5.5's will do fine i have 175/60 13's on mine and they don't rub with my car lowered.
    the blue b6-ze oh yeah!!

I Have 14X6 TSW wheels on my car, with 195/45/14 inch tires. They have 38mm back spacing. Festiva bolt pattern is 4X114.3. ( these wheels were on Darpien's car when it belonged to Wil )

        12" rims

Found a spare at the junk and some ebay surfing kept coming up with ATV rims. Any idea if it's legal or even possible to run ATV rims on a Festiva.

i wouldnt say its safe. if there is a junk yard near you take a tape measure and go find some wheels. make sure the space between the oposite bolt holes is 4.5 inches and that the center main hole (whatever its called) is no less than 2 and 7/16 inches. i found some 5 spoke 14s on a mercury that has been sitting forever. just need to get ahold of the owners to see if i can make a deal. but yeah....dont use 4 wheeler tires...take some time and a few bucks and go to a junkyard

they dont have to look great either. get wheels that have a design to your likeing and sand and paint them.

i kick it up with 15x 6.5 inch rims... they WILL fit, and with a smaller diameter rim you wont have so much rubbing, i also use a 195/50r15, i dont know if you can get such a wide small diameter rim... id say if you want more rubber get aspire suspension, 13" rims and then run a 175/70r13... pretty good amount of meat, nice and tall for winter/crazy hillbilly ditch jumping, and will NEVER rub! i even have cut springs and i never had a problem... i had those on front and then 175/80r13's on back for a bit more lift in the snow...
