Boost can you take a picture of the tie rod end you are trying to remove so we can see exactly what you are looking at and dealing with? This might help but its a long shot.

Yeah, the boot would have just slid out of the way. Did you try heating it and then pouring cold water on it. Heard somewhere that breaks some kind of bond. I cant believe its on there so tight ??? Dont lose hope, good luck !!

Actually, the boot was tied on with safety wire and it was on there good. I did not know what I was in for so I figured I'd just cut it since I have a couple of new ones.

I have not tried the hot and cold idea yet. It's been raining all week and even into this weekend. I'll have to get to it when it clears up a bit.

I saw some freezing spray at the parts store yesterday that is supposed to "break" the rust. Not sure about that but I may have to try it if nothing works out or just take it to the alignment shop and let them do it before they do the alignment.

To keep me motivated I figured I'd post pics of what I started with...

Leaky oil pan-replaced the gasket. Hopefully no more leaks.

          Worn stut mounts...

          Worn bushings everywhere:

The twin-turbo set up is what I tell myself so I won't go crazy and push this car off the mountain:p It's funny that this is the least hp car in the fleet but we seem to have been spending more on it than any of the others... hence the moniker "Expenstiva"

It really is a good little car but I'm now going on weekend number 3 due to the crappy weather.

I am still having a hard time with the the outer tie rod end. I cannot get the damn thing off. I have one last trick and them I'm going to have a pro take care of it..

                  Any other ideas??

Well, I finally broke down and took the car to the alignment shop. Took them over an hour with a torch to break the tie rod end loose! Being that I live in BFE, they forgot that they were to swap on the new tie rod end. The old unit was still ok so they kept it on and lined it all up. Looks pretty good now and handles much better.

Still need to finish the A/C before the "boss" will drive it. Just did the tint too. Maybe I should enter it in the FOTM contest!?!?!

Here's how the fit in the wells...

                    What do you guys think?

I'm embarrassed to say that I cannot recall the name brand of the tint. My wife took it to be done... I'll check the receipt when I get home...
