  • Miata Wheel Fitment Issue

I blew out a tire last week so instad of spending $80 on the stock tire I decided to scout around and look for a decent set of wheels and tires. I found a nice set of Miata wheels and tires. Here's a pic...

Well long story short a stock miata wheel DOES NOT fit on a 1990 Festiva unless you have Aspire brakes. The Festiva center is 2 1/4" the Miata in 2 1/8" .

So option 2 is what I did this afternoon and that was use a hole saw bit 2 1/4" in size to ream out the aluminum centers of the wheels to fit  crude but effective. I'm not swapping over brakes until I need them. I will post pics tomorrow if anyone wants to see them on my little red thing

Even if you bored out the Hub bore center, it won't fit. Miatas have a 4x100 bolt pattern. Are those the semi hollow, or hollow spoke design? 94-97 wheels. We have one at our junkyard.

**edit** and for 80 bucks for a stock tire your getting the shaft. You can get two for 90 shipped to your door from ebay or tirerack.

haha didn't realize the lug pattern difference /sigh i thought i read everything on it but somehow missed that part, there really isn't a whole lot of information on lug patterns and what not for the stock one because so many of you swap over etc. the sticky does not say anything about the lug patterns etc. so i assumed they were the same guess it's back to the drawing board  .

http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90 it lists the pattern before all the listed cars under it.

All miatas are 4x100 89 to 2002 at least

The sticky on top.... go to the above posted link ^^

Where are you located at and what did you pay for those wheels if you don't mind me asking?

You guys should really put the lug pattern size up top for the festivas and aspires to avoid confusion, I looked at that list and didn't even see it on there  . Had to do a "search" on the page to find it.

I'm in St. Petersburg, FL and I paid $200 for them. I might just have to do the Aspire swap at this rate. There's a good donor in the J/Y
