ok long over due update. i got my rear aspire beam fixed and its ready to go but im still confused on what springs. i thought the stiffer in the back the better? well i see quadawg and floyd are running stiffer springs in the front then the rear. im set on 8 in height. but i dont know what rate??? i was thinking 250lb? maybe 300 in the rear? but what about the front? i really want to dial this car in for 1/4 there is no traction with the b6t so now im going to go bigger and the problem will be worse. on the plus side i got a lsd and a killer trans that will take any thing i can throw at it. does anyone know what diameter the dropzone coilovers are?

also has anyone yet to find an ADJUSTABLE front strut that will be a direct bolt up to our knuckles? i emaild KYB asking them for a list of cars that might have the same bolt spacing but they replied back that it would not be in there best intrest to recomend something other then a stock strut for the festiva.
i looked in a KYB catalog at advance and they listed all there agx applications.
suzuki swift? eagle talon? neon? nissan 200ser?escort?
thanks everyone

well heres a small update, what seems like almost a year the rear axle beam is finally finished and installed. i still need to order the correct springs but the car is back on the ground and rolling. next task is the front suspension. my plans for the front are aspire knuckles kia rio studed hubs, for the coilovers for the front im thinking of going with the 323 bf BC coilover kit, the reason being is i want to be adjust the damping. i know the agx can be done with the mirage front struts but i just hate to modify the knuckle and drill out the strut. so my option for now is that or unless someone knows of a AGX or dampening strut that can be bolted up the aspire knuckle. or the other option which maybe cheaper is to have custom struts made but i dont know who does that? the other front end taks will be new inner tie rods, aspire sway bar. the master cylinder will be upgraded to a EGT mc, mx-3 brake booster, and i will be adding a slave cylinder for my g5mr trans swap. heres some pictures

another small update, after trying to get the struts welded at 2 different shop Rallytiva's friend came through and welded the perches on. for some reason everyone took the caution do not expose to heat sticker to serious and feared for there lifes? so i went with qa1 7in 250lb springs in front, im kind of wishing i went with the 8in but there was a big price jump for the 8's, so once i get it on the ground will see what happends. im kind of at a hault i need to get caliper guide bolts for the aspire calipers, there longer then the stock festiva ones. autozone has them for 4.99 but they wont be here to early next week.
I only have the passanger side done so far and everything is tightend up yet im debating on doing my outer tie rods now or pull the whole rack when i pull the motor.Last edited by Hot_Wheels; 03-08-2010, 10:41 PM.

Everything looks amazing! I am going to do the aspire swap front and back in the summer, and I wish I could do as good of a job as you did, but it costs too much. therefore it's cutting springs for me!
Good luck, I hope the other side goes just as successfully

i was hoping to finish the swap today but no luck! i got the right side pretty much done. I put the FMS braided lines on, i purchased the aspire ones but they seems to be exactly the same as the festiva ones. they where a little shorter then the festiva stock ones (look at the pictures) i didnt turn the wheel all the way yet to make sure the lines can freely travel. i tried to bolt my Aspire sway bar up but its not even cloese to fitting due to my cross member being dropped a little. so im not sure what to do i was thinking of maybe lowering the brackets where the sway bar bolts up to but im not sure if that will throw off the suspension geometry. I may just leave the stock festi bar in for now til i get the bpt in and i might get rid of the cross member spacers. the other option is custom sway bar? does anyone know who makes sway bars or how? or what about heating it up with oxy/acytelene and bending it?
Also do the brake pad retaining wires look right? there where no good pictures in the Haynes manual and the stock festiva pads had a little different set up

If possible, I'd go to a 'yard and check a couple Aspire calipers and retaining springs out to be sure.
Looking good so far!
As for AGX, convince KYB to make them for Rios. Then you'll have your bolt-ups.

if youre going to install the aspire sway bar upside down im pretty sure you have to notch the cross member... i know i had to. but if your cross member is already dropped try putting it in there the right way and see what happens.
why did you have to cut your tow hook holes? seems strange to me that the say bar is that close to those... aside from the cross memeber its a direct bolt in.
heres my install if it helps: http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=27877Last edited by fastivaB6TG25MR; 04-04-2010, 10:21 AM.I know its a piece of crap but im still faster...and its 100% legal!!!!!
