  • Mazda rx-7 = Festiva?

I ran across something strange today. A 1985 Mazda RX-7 has the same front and rear track as an Aspire. I have seen on here that the rwd RX-7 wheels will fit on the stock Festiva bolt pattern. Control arms are Completely different from RX-7 to Aspire. I was hoping somehow the RX-7 brakes would swap over to the Festy hubs. I still don't know. Has anyone run into this?
    Thanks,

I do not think the rx7 wheels work on a Festy bolt pattern....I will try to find the thread

But the weird thing is that the RX-7 and the Aspire are the same width. Only RX has vented front and rear disks and anti sway bars, 23mm front, 18 rear if I remember right.

That was a joke, Geneva. I rode on those wheels for, IDK, six months or a year. They are direct fit for the festiva bolt pattern. The only thing I did, because they were 14 x 6, was used spacers, and I ended up buying longer lug bolts because the originals only gave me, seriously, maybe two threads into the hub.

But the wheels did fit. Can't remember the tire size I went to with them, but they only rubbed on one side, if I hit a speed bump or something too hard.

According to a sticky or link somewhere on here is a list of all bolt patterns to most cars. It states that the 1984-1985 Mazda GSL-SE is same bolt pattern as Festiva. (I do believe that it is 1984-1988 that fit, not just 84-85)
I will try to find the link.......

Discuss improvements to your Festiva or Aspire in the handling, braking, wheels and tires areas.

the hub to hub width on a 2nd gen rx7 is identical to a festiva.

just FYI for anyone who wants to rwd using an rx7 parts car.

On a more related topic, there are 4 bolt and 5 bolt rx-7 wheels. The 4 bolts fit better on the Festiva than do the 5 bolts. The thing I don't know if you can mount Mazda hubs and brakes on a Festiva, like the Aspire swap.
