  • which rims do you perfer

before i go and buy rims and tires I'm trying to see what is the best choice.

    13" rims with 175/60HR13 or
    14" rims with 165/65HR14?

I don't want any rubbing so this is the choice, cause i don't think they make a 175/ 50 or 60 HR14 out there.

I would go with the 13" rims with 175/60HR13. They are a little wider than the 14" rims with 165/65HR14. I have the 165/65R14 and had 185/65/14 on and they did rub the rear struts and hit the fenders over bumps. The 175/60HR13 are smaller and should fit fine. Also depends if you will be lowering the car as to how they will fit.

Offset is key, depending on the rims... I have 195/55/14's for my race tires and they rub the strut ever so slightly around very hard turns (AutoX'ing) and my everyday Aspire steelies I have 185/60/13's so just be careful of the offset of your wheels.. -Kyle

I have 195/45/14 on 14x6 wheels with 38mm offset, there is no rubbing at all! I really like them.

tire rack has 175/65fr14 for 40 bucks

anyone running these? this will make the tire and rim a bit more heavier too? thus defeating the purpose of performance?
